A 63-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing a woman in a violent attack in Orange County, police said.
The incident happened around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, when officers responded to a report of a stabbing near 73 Bridge St. in Newburgh, according to the City of Newburgh Police Department.
At the scene, officers found a woman suffering from severe injuries to her hands and head. She was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital, where her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, police said.

A Maryland man is accused of stabbing and killing his wife inside their apartment at the Leisure World retirement community, police said.
Vivian Stewart Nation, 80, is charged with the murder in the death of his wife, 78-year-old Beverly Fletcher in Silver Spring on Saturday, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
