Bankrupt Grocer Last Seen In 2015 Returns To Long Island — And It's Coming To East Meadow
Former Long Island grocery chain Pathmark, bankrupt and absent from the area since 2015, is making a return on Friday, May 1.
The brand owner, Allegiance Retail Services, revealed Tuesday, April 21 that a Pathmark Daily store will open at 625 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow, according to industry publication Grocery Dive.
Allegiance owns a variety of grocery brands in the tri-state region and will be converting a Super Foodtown store into the Pathmark Daily, with 15,000 square feet on the main floor, Newsday reported.

Dick's Sporting Goods has finalized its purchase of Foot Locker, creating a global sports retail giant with more than 3,200 stores in 20 countries.
The Pittsburgh-based chain completed the $2.5 billion deal to acquire the sneaker chain on Monday, Sept. 8. Dick's will keep Foot Locker's brands, including Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, WSS, and atmos.

Chief operating officer Michael Fiddelke will become Target's next CEO, the retail giant announced on Wednesday, Aug 20. Fiddelke, who has spent two decades at Target, will succeed current chief executive Brian Cornell on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026.
