A Long Island woman’s home security system may have stopped a burglary in progress after she spotted a stranger trying to break in.
The 36-year-old Bayville homeowner was at her Creek Ridge Road residence at around 9:20 p.m. Monday, July 28, when she saw a man attempting to force his way into her home on her surveillance cameras, according to Nassau County Police. She immediately called 911.

Burglars entered a home in Summit early Wednesday, May 21, and left with two BMWs, authorities said.
At 5 a.m., the suspects entered the residence on the 200 block of Ashland Road through an unsecured rear door, Summit police said.
